
Team Effort- November 6, 2007
Every out of state hunt begins with a good ole’ road trip. Our eighteen-hour bowhunting trip to Northeast Nebraska was no different. My brother Kevin Howell, team member Van Foster and I loaded down the truck and trailer and headed north to the Missouri River bottoms of northeast Nebraska. We decided to stop at our farm in southeast Arkansas to get any needed gear and spend the night.

I was looking forward to my cousin
Ranger's hunt. Ranger is only thirteen years old but has a
lot more hunting experience than your average thirteen year old.
His father Chris and I set up stands the evening Ranger was due
to fly in. The temperatures were dropping and the rut was
fast approaching. The stage was set for an awesome hunt.

Third Times a Charm- November 7, 2007
With Ranger filling his Illinois tag
early, Dana and I jumped behind the camera to film my Uncle
Chris and our good friend Jrod. Uncle Chris and Jrod had to leave for a
scheduled dirt track race in Mississippi so they invited us to
try our luck at an Illinois trophy.

Kansas 9-point- November 18, 2007
November 18th found Dana and I back in
Kansas set up on the edge of a crp field where we had seen some good

November 23, 2007
After hunting the first two months of
the season with bow and arrow, Van and I were looking forward to
hanging our bows and doing some rifle hunting.

December 31, 2007
After checking the weather report for
Kansas, we decided to head back to camp on December 27th. A big
winter storm had just pushed through and we were hoping the deer
would be up on their feet in search of food. After the long 14
hour truck ride, we got settled in at the camp and came up with
a game plan.
